People! I'm doing not one, but two editions of my bi-monthly residency at Mutant Radio today. There's my "Out there...in the perimeter" 2-hour episode of new music on compilations from whypeopledance , Bamboo Shows , Earthly Measures and the latest Elsewhere compilation as well as new material from T-woc TAGLIABUE, Cosmo Vitelli, Anjuna Niv, Benoit B, Lion's Drums,Jimmy Smack and other wondrous musical entities. Preceding this show is a 1-hour "Solidarity" Special edition dedicated to people around the world dragged into wars and conflicts they do not want. There is a smattering of protest songs and anti-war songs but also philosophical, spiritual and reflective songs highlighting the beauty, marvel, wonder and indeed even tragedy of this thing we call life. For something so special we humans sure do know how to make a mess of a very, very good thing. The message is one of love...and to take heed and learn from our mistakes. Included in the show is music from Bowie, Cher, William Onyeabor, Bahumutsi Drama Group, David Sylvian & Ryuichi Sakamoto, Laibach, Ivor Cutler and lots more.
