Mutant Radio (Tbilisi, GE) monthly residency, episode #32, December '23. As the winter cold kicks in, here's one hour of Enno Velthuys. Not much is known about Velthuys, a somewhat obscure character in the world of Dutch electronic music. He released four tapes in the ‘80’s, three of them on the EXART cassette label from IJmuiden, ran by Hessel Veldman and Nick Nicole. Velthuys was a hermit, creating beautiful melodic ambient in the bedroom of his mother’s apartment. Some pieces are reminiscent of a classic dungeon explorer game while others may have a more surreal, cinematic feel. Sadly Velthuys passed away in 2009.
