Into the forest, where the writhing shadows of trees and miasmic sunlight filtered through branches leaves swirling, dappled patterns on the undergrowth. Woodland has long been a liminal place, historically owned and guarded by the nobility, yet also inhabited by those who were cast off from society, including vagabonds and mystics. For his show on Bar Jerusalem, André Pahl wanders down forest paths, exploring the duality of darkness and freedom harboured under the canopy.⁣
